For those of you with super curly,
dry and/or relaxed hair, there are some key substances to look out for
when choosing a: heat protection hair product or conditioner. All of the
substances below provide the much needed moisture you need to the hair
shaft, increase sheen, strengthen the hair follicle and/or coat the hair
shaft to prevent damage. Note that the first ingredient to look for on
your hair products label should always be WATER!
Best substances to look for in hair
products*
Panthenol, Silk Amino Acids, Proplene
Glycol, Gylcerin, Stearyl Alcohols, Hydrogenated Oils, Hyrocelluslose,
Polyquaternium 10 or 11, Hyrdogenated Wheat Protein, Amodimethicone
*Ideally, these ingredients should
be fairly high up on the product label: e.g. 1st-6th. While not every
product will have ALL of the above, many will have at least 3-4 in their
