Beauty Bits and Tips:  a few more beauty hints from us

What I'm Using Now

As a woman of "a certain age" I 'm noticing the signs of aging (and have for a while).   As a certified "beauty junkie," I've tried a great many products.  Needless to say, some have worked better than others.  Recently, after consulting a dermatologist, I have begun two skin care regimens -- one for  mornings and one for evenings.

In the morning I am using a series of Vitamin C products and enhancers, eye cream, face cream, and, of course a broad spectrum  UVA/UVB with an SPF of 20 or above.  (I use sunscreen daily, no matter the season.)  I was also informed that I should be choosing Vitamin C products with L-ascorbic acid, so I look for that when selecting brands.

In the evening I am using AHA products (eye and skin) to encourage cell turnover.  I also use an AHA mask once or twice a week.  (Be careful of the strength of the Hydroxy acids you start with as certain levels may be too strong for your skin.)  I have recently added Kinerase (which contains N6-furfuryladenine) to the mix, alternating the AHA skin product with the Kinerase every other night.

I have been using the Vitamin C/AHA products for  about 6 months.  I believe that slowly but surely, I have begun to see some  improvement in minimizing lines, improving pore size, and lightening some of my dark spots.  It's still too early to tell if the addition of the Kinerase is providing noticable benefits, so I'll keep you informed.

I have been using the SkinCeutical brands for both my Vitamin C and AHA regimens.  These products along with Kinerace are available at The SkinStore.com. They also carry several other anti-aging brands.

Have a beautiful month!
