About Us: in case you wondered
I 'm a beauty junkie. It's been that way since I first stepped into a salon with my mom as I watched her get her weekly wash and set. And, I was utterly fascinated as I watched my older cousins putting on make-up as they got ready for their dates. I was hooked! As an adult my interest and knowledge grew as I made the rounds of Manhattan salons and the cosmetic floors of most of New York City's department stores. Over the years, I somehow became the "beauty guru" to my friends guiding them through the array of beauty products, finding them the perfect hair salon, and taking them for make-overs. (Yes, I had become a fixture at many a beauty counter.) As my friends continued to come to me with questions, I realized that the answers were often hard to find, particularly since there were so many alternatives. ("But what is the best treatment for dry skin or acne or...") With this in mind, Beauty Survival was born in 2000. Our goal is to guide our visitors through the maze of beauty information and, hopefully, have them enjoy the experience. So, beauty junkie or not, Beauty Survival is dedicated to anyone who ever walked into a salon, spa, or cosmetics department and was confused.
