Correction Salons: find salons who specialize in color correction near you
It's a hair color
emergency. You may have had an at home color disaster or one at the salon,
but no matter what the cause you need to find an expert to fix your hair color
and fast. This is called color correction (or corrective color) and its a
specialty all on its own. Not
every stylist or colorist is equipped to handle these kind problems so its
important to find one that has the knowledge and experience to fix your damage
-- not make it worse. There are salons where color correction is one of
their specialties. Finding one is a good start in the process of choosing
the right person to fix your hair color disaster. If there doesn't seem to
be a color correction salon in your area, you might want to look for a salon who
specializes in color and has one or more color correction experts on its
staff.
In most cases, you will need a
consultation prior to having the correction process done or even being quoted a
price. Many times the consultation is free but check with the receptionist
about the cost of the consultation along with the customary practice of tipping
for the consultation. Depending upon the amount of damage done to your
hair, you may need more than one appointment to get your hair back in shape.
Seeking
Salons specializing in color correction
So where to start? I spent
some time sifting through a myriad of information and found a number of salons
who not only provide but appear to specialize in color correction. However,
please note: We believe this list should be used as a starting
point. In most cases we have no specific knowledge of the quality of the
work of any salon listed or that of any particular individual working in any of
these salons. Therefore, it is extremely important to do some homework
about the person who will be doing your color correction. First, when
calling a salon ask for a
consultation with a color correction specialist. During the
consultation, some questions you might want to consider asking include: What was his or her
training as a colorist? How long has he or she been working as a colorist
(not including the time spent in training)? What has his or her training
and experience been specifically in corrective color? What courses or
other continuing education has he or she taken in the field of color? You
can probably think of other things that you want to know. If you do not
like the answers or are not comfortable with the colorist -- move on!
In some cases we have ratings
and reviews for the salons listed on this page. (The
review may not deal specifically with color correction.)
Salons with reviews are noted with an icon

(or any other other type of salon or spa) please rate
it so that our other visitors can take advantage of your experiences.
As we find addition salons
specializing in color correction, we will be adding them to our list. So,
keep checking back.
